Pediatric Home Visits
Pediatric house calls in South Jersey
When your child is sick, the last thing anyone needs is a car seat and a waiting room. A board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner comes to your home, examines your child, and tells you what is going on and what to do next.
What a home visit covers
- A full exam for fevers, coughs, rashes and other common illnesses
- Rapid testing for flu, COVID-19 and RSV
- Newborn weight checks and weighted feeds, weighing your baby before and after a feed
- Feeding and breastfeeding support from a certified breastfeeding specialist
- Prescriptions sent to your pharmacy when appropriate
- A visit summary for your pediatrician's office, if you would like one
Two ways to get one
Members, $125 per visit. The Text + Telemedicine Membership ($79 a month) covers texting and video visits. When a hands-on exam is the right call, an in-home visit is $125.
New babies, included. The Newborn Support Package ($350) covers the first eight weeks with one to two home visits and text access, no membership needed.
Who comes to your door
A pediatric nurse practitioner, not a call center
Marie Udell is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner and a certified breastfeeding specialist who started her career in the NICU caring for premature and fragile infants. She is the one who texts with you, sees you on video, and comes to the house, so you are never explaining your child's history to a stranger. She is not a physician, and she works alongside your child's pediatrician rather than replacing them.
Before you ask
Do I keep my pediatrician?
Yes. Home Base Pediatrics is not a replacement for well-child visits at your pediatrician's office. We fill the gap in between: the rash after hours, the feeding question that does not feel worth a whole appointment, the cough that will not quit. If you would like, we send a summary of each visit to your pediatrician's office so they stay in the loop. Just give us their fax number.

Knowing when it is not us
When to go to urgent care or the ER
A home visit is the right level of care for most everyday illness. Some things need equipment that does not fit in a bag:
- Cuts that may need stitches, or injuries that may need an X-ray
- A child who may need IV fluids
- Any fever in a baby under three months. Read when a fever needs a doctor for why that one never waits
- Trouble breathing, a seizure, a child who is hard to wake, or anything that feels like an emergency: call 911
If you are not sure which one you need, text first. Helping you decide between home care, urgent care and the ER is part of the job.
How to get a home visit
Start with a text or video visit
Members text first. Most families can have their first telehealth visit the same day they book.
Decide together
If a hands-on exam or a rapid test is the right call, we set up the home visit, usually the same or next day.
We come to you
Your child stays in their own clothes on their own sofa. Prescriptions go straight to your pharmacy when appropriate.
FAQs
Do you really come to the house?
Yes. A board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner comes to your home in South Jersey, so a sick child stays on the sofa instead of in a waiting room. In-home visits cover Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Voorhees, Collingswood, Mullica Hill, Washington Township, Deptford, Glassboro, Moorestown, Marlton, Delran and Medford.
Is this a pediatrician home visit?
It is a pediatric home visit from a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner, not a physician. Marie Udell is licensed in New Jersey to examine, diagnose and treat children, and to prescribe when it is appropriate. Your child keeps their regular pediatrician for well-child visits and vaccines.
How much does a home visit cost?
For members, an in-home visit is $125 on top of the $79 monthly membership. The Newborn Support Package is $350 for the first eight weeks and already includes one to two home visits, with no membership needed. We do not bill insurance, so there are no claims and no surprise bills.
How soon can you come?
Sick visits are same or next day, by video or in your home. Many questions can be sorted out by text or video first, and when a hands-on exam is the right call, we arrange the home visit.
What can you do at a home visit?
A full exam for common illnesses such as fevers, coughs and rashes, rapid testing for flu, COVID-19 and RSV, newborn weight checks and weighted feeds, and feeding support. Prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy when appropriate.
What needs urgent care or the ER instead?
Anything that needs stitches, an X-ray or IV fluids, and any emergency. If your child is struggling to breathe, is hard to wake, has a seizure, or you think it is an emergency, call 911. We will always tell you plainly when a home visit is not the right level of care.
Will my pediatrician know about the visit?
If you would like them to. After a visit we can send a summary to your pediatrician's office so they have the full picture. Just give us their fax number.
What if my town is not on the list?
Ask anyway. Send us your town and we will tell you straight away whether we can come to you. Text and telehealth are available anywhere in New Jersey either way.
What Families Say

★★★★★
Marie has been an absolute game changer for our family. When I reached out, my 8-month-old was still waking every 3 hours to eat, and within just a few days of working with Marie, she was sleeping through the night. I honestly wish I had hired her sooner. She's knowledgeable, responsive, and truly cares. I always felt like I had someone in my corner. I can't recommend her enough!
★★★★★
Where to begin? As a second time mom, I had most of the "things" I needed for my baby but what I didn't have was the support I found in Marie. I look at this service as investing in myself as a mother. Having someone to help with sleep questions, milestones or the 1-2 transition was so helpful. When that someone is also a medical professional who provides advice backed in data, it's really just the best of both worlds. A lot of the online world can feel very superficial but Marie is very much a normal mom who wants the best for her clients.
★★★★★
Marie is seriously the best! Always available to help answer any question with compassion, knowledge, and a realistic approach. She has such a unique point of view with her medical background and motherhood experience which really creates the best realistic advice!
★★★★★
As a mom, I'm so grateful for Marie. She's knowledgeable, compassionate and shares practical trustworthy advice that helps parents feel confident. Always kind, responsive and real about motherhood, such a wonderful resource.
